It seems to take half an hour to get a 2.5 meg file and I'm on cable. All it does it catalog, process, this, that, the other thing, then it downloads so slowly. What's up?

Uploads are even worse! Try uploading a 7.5mb folder of pics, it takes over 45 minutes. And I'm on DSL!

DSL uploads are supposed to be worse than downloads. I suppose there might be some companies that don't set upload speed to be much slower, but most of them do to save bandwidth. The average consumer uploads only a few megs in a whole day or week, just requests for web-pages and cookies. Both of those are just little tiny strings of text that call up whole pages.

Though the uploads should be slower than downloads, 45 mins is rather long for 7.5 MB, and you said downloading was slow too. It might be your distance from the station. Some DSL companies aren't very scrupulous about how far away customers can be before they need a new station.
