bizarre article in weekly computer newspaper
I read an article in one of those free weekly computer newspapers where the author suggested companies will be buying PCs (running Mac OS) to run Windows in emulation mode (for the old software they still need). I was stunned!
It's based on the theory that while the business world shifts increasingly to Unix, Windows is still crucial. The suggestions is that once speed is no longer an issue, running XP in emulation mode through a Mac boot gives the best combination of security/ease of use/reliability.
Wish I could recall the name of the author. It'savailable free in NYC, in those street boxes.

I'm setting up my dad's new MacBook for just that scenario.

I run linux servers and thin-clients at my company but...
As much as I love unix and linux, the business world simply isn't switching to them. Windows is increasingly entrenched on the desktop and is still increasing it's share of the server market.
The whole article is wack.
