Quicktime 7.1.1 problems

Since I installed the update... When I try to use my cam with the ancient (unfortunately most recent version for the Mac) Yahoo IM, all I get is a black screen while my cam tells me it is broadcasting... Anyone else have any problems with this update? How can I "downgrade" my version of QuickTime? Maybe this will correct the problem. Have not found a good Yahoo compatible IM that has cam ability... Adium is great but no cam ability! Suggestions?
