vram in new macbook? Depends on the amount of ram?

Got a question. Ive heard all this talk about integrated graphics on the new macbooks, and how it uses ram.

Got two questions actually...

1) So the more ram you put in(up to 2 gigs) the better the video performance on the macbook with integrated graphics?

2) How much vram does the new macbooks have? Does it vary depending on how much ram you have?

forgive me if these are silly questions. :-)

More RAM is good because OS X loves RAM.

The important thing is that both sticks are the same size, configuration and speed, so that the bus runs dual-channel, doubling memory bandwidth.

OS X dynamically varies the amount of RAM given over to the GPU. The minimum is 64 MB, with a 16 MB overhead, meaning you lose a minimum of 80 MB of system RAM. The maximum amount of video RAM is somewhere around 224 MB, IIRC. I suppose that if you've only got 512 MB system RAM, it's unlikely OS X will devote nearly half of it to the GPU, under any circumstances.
