Digidesign just release ProTools 5.3.1 for Windows XP. Next-generation X86 compatability BEFORE they got it onto OSX? ProTools has always and as far as im concerned will always be more focused on the macintosh (how often do you see PC's in ProTools rigs? Ive NEVER seen a PC protools rig in a studio) so this appears as kind of a slap in the face. Why is the windows version of ProTools out the door before OSX's version is?

    Because XP is not a new OS so they didn't have to rewrite lots of code?

    This is NOT a big deal. Pro Tools for Windows has been available for a while, and there is absolutley no question that the Mac version of Pro Tools is favored by the great majority of audio pros. Updating the latest Pro Tools for Windows to be XP compliant is a much smaller programming task that updating Pro Tools for OS9 to work on OSX.



    This is absolutely not an example of a software vendor focusing more heavily on their Windows version. Digi knows which side their bread is buttered on!
