Fan noise from the iMac internal mic

I have a intel 2ghz duo core iMac, and i'm wondering, does anyone else with this computer hear an internal fan noise the mic is picking up?



I'm just wondering if it's the enviroment around me, or a fan noise inside that's causing this noise.

    As a general rule, I never use a built in mic, it usually isnt sheilded from electronic interferance before it hits the A=>D converter; and computers have tons of RF at all kinds of frequencies, and whitenoise, so the signal is dirty. Get a USB mic.
