Hi Guys! I had a quick question. I have a Macbook Pro, and I was wondering are there any providers out there that offer a cellular wireless card that works with the expresscard slot of the Macbook Pro? I can't seem to find anything that fits into that slot. Or is there some kind of USB or firewire adapter that will allow me to use regualar PC cards with my laptop? Like an external PC card reader of some kind?

Thanks!

Kevin

Verizon will start selling one within days. http://www.evdoinfo.com/

On the other hand, I prefer a bluetooth EvDO modem. I have a Treo 700p as my primary phone and used an E815 as a bluetooth EvDO modem.

    A) You can just leave it in your briefcase of bag, connecto it via bluetooth and you are good to go.

    B) It doesn't protrude out like a card would.

    C) Being a previous KPC650 and whatever that novatel one was owner, the E815 gets MUCH better reception.

The only drawback if that if you don't already have verizon, you have to have a minute plan for the phone. Also, if you change cities, (i.e. flying from Jacksonville to San Francisco) you will need to dial *22899 to update the data information.

If anyone needs help with verizon EvDO and mac let me know, I have tried it all. Email penningtonj@mac.com.

Yeah I have a Treo 700p for Sprint on my MBP. With cabled tethering I get 80KB/sec - 100KB/sec downloads, and all the way up to 60KB/sec with bluetooth. That and my data plan is only $15 a month instead of $60 for an aircard. And I don't have to update my roaming info when I travel. =P
