When is Apple going to get serious about Speech? They've been ahead of PCs for a decade, yet nothing's changed in as long either.
Recognition is still spotty and the Voices need a MAJOR update. There were job listing at Apple asking for people to program Speech stuff a while ago. Maybe a surprise feature of Jaguar? Hopefully it'll be updated sooner than OS XI
It never ceases to amaze and crack PC users up when I have SimpleText insult them or say something inappropriate This is great way to sell Macs!

Amazon.com Product Description:
iListen from MacSpeech brings advanced speech recognition to the Macintosh. iListen taps directly into hundreds of popular Macintosh applications. No need to use a notepad application and the cut-and-paste shuffle. With MacSpeech's exclusive TalkAnywhere technology, iListen works with the programs you use every day--e-mail, word processors, graphics applications, and Internet software--virtually anywhere you normally type.
iListen also offers full command and control of your Mac. Open applications, click the mouse, and even surf the Web using nothing more than your voice. Use the exclusive Voice Launcher to open your favorite applications, along with more than 150 of the most popular sites on the World Wide Web. Work smarter, not harder with voice-activated AppleScripts. iListen uses AppleScript to perform a virtually unlimited range of tasks, all by voice. You can also easily create scripts of your own using iListen's convenient built-in script editor.
iListen is faster and more accurate than other speech recognition programs thanks in part to a native vocabulary of about 30,000 words and a background vocabulary of 300,000 words, developed in partnership with Oxford University Press. iListen will learn your voice in as little as 15 minutes. iListen keeps you informed with a feedback palette that floats above other applications.
