Mouse Acceleration/Tracking

I recently bought a Logitech Cordless Desktop S 530 Laser for my Macbook Pro 2Ghz 15". when I install the logitech control center it uses the the system traking speeds and of course in OS X there is no mouse acceleration control. So I am constantly overshooting and undershooting what I am trying to click on. So far I have tried out a few different programs like steermouse, usb overdrive, and i even found a program called imousefix that allows me to change and disable the system mouse acceleration. Usb overdrive and steermouse worked fine and i would probably use them except that if i do i wont have button functionality on my keyboard since it is a combo and the keyboard and the mouse go off of the same reciever. plus with those programs you lose the funtionality on two of the mouse buttons. I just want to know if there is anyway to have more control over my mouse speed and accelration that makes it feel i guess more like my windows mouse. I have heard of many others talking about this same thing so It is not necessarily a logitech issue. If there is anyone that can help me PLEASE it is driving me crazy.

Simply go into the logitech settings assuming it came with its own muse program on an installation disk and turn of the mouse acceleration.
