10.4.7 may affect firewall
I used the "software update" option on my macbook pro to update from 10.4.6 to 10.4.7. A few days later I happened to check the firewall and found the setting had changed from my previous setting, ie. as per 10.4.6, of "on" to now "off".
My brother used the combo download to update his powerbook and had the same effect, i.e. firwall setting moves from previous "on" to now "off".
There is one entry on the Apple.com discussion forum where someone found a similar effect on his G5 but not his G4 machine.
I suspect most of us do not check firewall settings after we have set them, but maybe it would be wise to check if you have updated to 10.4.7
