Internet Connection

I am using a iBook G4 with and I have moved into a new apt with an already existing WiFi connection. My airport icon shows that I am connected to the internet with fulls bars but when I open a page on Safari, it shows that I am not connected to the internet, even though it shows that I am in the icon. Please help

    How do I add the ID to the network?

    The airport icon only shows that you are connected to a WiFi network.... that network may or may not allow you to connect to the internet. In this case, it seems the network will NOT allow you to access the internet.

    you add the ID by a rather (seemingly) round-a-bout way called Pay for Your Own Connection
