Are there any OS X utilities to mount SCSI drives?

I have a PowerBook G3 with an external SCSI hard drive. The drive is quite noisy and it would be nice if I were able to turn it on and off without shutting down the computer and restarting to mount it. Are there any utilities that can do that? I've heard that Mt. Anything and SCSI Probe can do this, but those are both for OS 9.

Can we move the Genius Bar?

I too need this answer as I have a nice 20 gig external scsi and want to mount it via software, not via boot load.
