iPod and the Movies "thing".
I think Movies thing will suffer a different approach from Apple.
Much as been said about the Video iPod, with larger screen , bigger battery , yadda , yadda, yadda.
Well, I say this... "Traquitanices!" .
Everyone is wrong.
Movies will be treated in a different manner from Apple.
You see, Apples products are all about the experience.
It worked wonderfully with Music.
A truly great player, more capacity, Music Sales integration and CDs archival.
But with Movies the Video iPod , whether it will have a 320 x 160 or 600 x 400 pixel screen will only be the tip of the Iceberg.
The real revolution will be the way you will watch movies. And Watching movies on a tiny little screen with headphones is not it.
Sure, it worked with music, but it wont be any revolution with video.
So, what gives ?
The Video iPod will have to have a "revolutionary" companion product that it will bring REAL value to the equation.
I think it will be a Airport Express "thingie" with a low end Video projector !
Think about it ... a wireless video projector that like AE can be accessed through wire-Ethernet or 802.11 X.
It will have a 1150 x whatever resolution and 1000 Lumen, and it will also have audio and video out ( digital of course).
It will have battery snap on or built in so you can pick it up and carry it over to different rooms in your house.
It will be roughly the size of a mac mini with a dock on top.
It will play also iPod Video storage.
It will cost 599 USD.

The ipod would also have to plug in to something for the same reason.
Other than that, the 'quality experience' idea is very interesting.

... well that was useless.
About three years ago, there was a rather substantial thread regarding an Apple projector, and it fell into two camps: 'never gonna happen, they can't add anything new to a competitive market', and 'the only thing they can add is ease of setup'.
what about an iPod Hi Fi with projector? plug in the ipod and you have image and sound.

I'm going to bed. This is silly.
