Quirky volume balance issue

Every few days or so, I notice my sound is panned to the right. Sometimes it is only 55% or 60% to the right, others it is 100% right. I don't know if it ever goes left, I just remember the last few times that it was to the right. Is there any reason why this happens? Are there shortcut keys to play with the panning? It is quite confusing, and slightly annoying (although easily fixable).



Any ideas anyone?

Perhaps your preferences are messed up. Try to scan your harddrive and check for permissions. I've had the same issue on my Powerbook. Always 100% balanced to the right. I had to open the control panel each time to set the balance scrollbar to the exact middle.
