Installing OS X via Firewire Target mode?

I have an old iMac DV 450 Mhz G3 that I want to unload... thing is it is not recognizing the OS X Install Disc I have. The disc spins for a few seconds and then my iMac spits the disc out. Is it possible to mount the iMac on my Mac Mini and install OS X via firewire target disc mode?



Has anyone attempted this?

Any help will be appreciated.







btw both macs are PowerPC.

    It should be possible - I've had to install key software using FireWire disk mode.
