Trouble switching Identies in Entourage

My wife and I use Entourage for email, and we each have a seperate Identity. If another Microsoft Office app is running (Word, Excel, etc.) we cannot change Identities until we quit the other apps...very annoying. Is there a way to switch Identities without having to close the other open Office apps?
