Reformating OS 9 iMac

The title pretty much said it all. I need to reformat an old Bondi Blue iMac G4. While this may seem simple at first there is one problem. I don't have the disks that came with it. Is there anyway to do a complete system reinstall without them, or at least clear everything off the harddrive but OS 9? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

    Thanks.

I also want to do this exact same thing, except with OS X

It seems that you could delete everything off of the root directory except for System Folder and Applications (OS 9). That would mean deleting System (X), Applications, Users, and Library folders.

Then when you boot into OS 9, you'll see some extra files on your hard drive that are hidden in OS X, and you could delete those from within OS 9.

I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work. Personally, i'd spend the money and get some restore discs off of ebay.

Can you boot into OS 9 at all?

If so boot into it and remove everything except the two folders mentioned in the post above.

Then you will have only OS 9 remaining.

    This method will also work.

Ok thanks. That computer is running very slowly now, probably due to the

    100+ icons on it's small(ish) screen lol.

I'm gonna go try that now.
