free e-mail alternatives to .mac?

Because Apple has realized that it can no longer offer a free service...that it advertised as a big selling point of 9, I am in the market for a new free email service. I of course want a POP account and IMAP would be even better. Can I have suggestions for cool free email domains?



-And does anyone know what happened to mindless.com that was an awesome free email domain

    it's FREE, it has web mail, it supports pop AND smtp!



    it has its restrictions but it's certainly better than mac.com for $99 per year





    so much for the people saying that nothing is free

    I disagree. It has ads, it expires your old messages, and you can only access it once every 10 minutes.

    Sorry, I should have said that in this economy it's a better value for me than .Mac



    You're right .Mac is certainly better as a service
