Can't put CD into iMac Drive!

For some reason i can't place a CD-inside the iMac Drive because it seems like there is something already inside. There is nothing inside, but it must be the cd-tray or something.

Has anyone encoutered this problem, or is there a way to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

To add to that, i couldn't start up one time. Freaked me out. Had to pull out the power cord and put it back in before it would start up. Plus, the cd-drive seems to have been cranking for awhile now.

I feel that something, internally, is wrong.

I'm not sure if it will work for desktops, but if you hold the mouse button down during boot it will eject the desktop. You will probably have to use a USB mouse, if that will even work.
