QT6 vs. Real One&WMP

After trying all three media players with a handfull of the same movie trailors, it was a "No Contest" !

QT6 (or QT5 for that matter) is hands down the BEST player available.

The quality of video and sound is untouchable by Real or WMP.

I know there is a lot of content out there that requires the other players, but the world of streaming video/audio should wake up and give us the best there is available.

QT6 is amazing. I was very impressed by the MWNY streaming broadcast. Unlike other people, I didn't experience any hiccups during the 40 minutes or so that I had it running. The sound is much better than I expected.

I love QT6. I wish Apple the best as they try to make a push for further share in the media arena. I think that Real will be going down soon.

You tried QT on the platform that 90%+ of the world uses?

QuickTime video definitely looks a little more blocky on Windows for some reason (hardware assist?), but as far as I can tell, the stability problems of QuickTime 4 were mostly gone in 5 and QuickTime 6 has been rock solid. I've been using a crappy Gateway Select 1000, 1 GHz Athlon.

Yes I have used QT4/5 not 6 on a windows box. It is not as nice as on Apple hardware. But, I have also seen the Real player on Windows, and it is not as nice as QT in windows. Many, well most of my friends that have window boxes use the QT player alot. Ofcourse that could be because I make many mutimedia projects on my mac and share it with them, and they cant ever finish the usually long drawn out process of producing "mm" on thier pc's. When they do finish a small project they are left saying..."ya, your mac is great at doing that stuff, but the macs dont have 2ghz boxes so we'll stick with pc".

like they really need that speed to read their email...hehe <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />
