Skipping itunes
I've read just about every single fix on the internet to try and stop this from happening.
I have a dual 2.5ghz G5, my user folder and music are on 1 hard drive, the other hard drive is a boot disk. Both are internal SATA drives. 2.5 GB RAM
My itunes skips on occasion. I encode at 320kbps so the buffer size is roughly half as effective as it would be normally (w/128kbps AAC or whatever people normally use).
Obviously it's a problem with the hard drive being accessed, but from where?
It skips almost every time I load a web page, but sometimes it just skips when I'm idle.
It skips less when the itunes window is closed, which is really crazy.
I have plenty of RAM on this thing, and I don't mind doubling the itunes buffer, but how would I go about doing that?
I have tried playing the files from 2 different hard drives (recently went from the stock 160GB which skipped to a 500GB which skips).
Before you respond, here are the things I've tried:

Before you respond, here are the things I've tried:
- Trashing the iTunes Prefs
- Playing the songs in quicktime (the files are fine)
- Checking for odd background processes (makes no difference)
