Is up on the apple store, will this kit work with a G5 quad?

    it says that you need a Mac Pro with available double-wide PCI Express slot or two standard slots

    right, but trying to figure out if it will work with 2 standard? PCI express slots in the G5

    If I had to guess, I would say no - simply because of the endian issue, and the EFI/OpenFirmware issue.

    I want it. I may get Quad-2.0 and X1900XT - at student prices, that cancels out, almost. Or I may try to push parents to let me get a trust fund check to cover say $1000 or $1500 of the computer, and get 2.66 & x1900xt My issue is that I also am getting a gig 3rd party RAM, an eyeTV, and a 20 inch LCD. Hence I'm over 3k, and I only made about $2200 this summer, and don't have $500 of it yet.

    omg, I'm in almost the same position, except I made the move of closing a CD account today to cover the difference, and just buy the LCD later.
