External Hard Drive Solution Advice Needed
Okay so.. I currently use a 17" Macbook Pro, maxed specs.
I figured I should get an external hard drive, but haven't been able to find any complete packages with the specs I am looking for, at a reasonable price.
SO, I began to hunt around the internet searching for solutions. I decided making my own with a case+drive would probably be best.
I purchased an OWC enclosure, which supports internal SATA and SATA II drives for $110. It also has an assortment of connection options (2x Firewire 800, Firewire 400, USB 2.0, and an eSATA port).

So now it comes down to a drive. I was thinking something between 250 and 350, SATA II, 7200 (sadly 10ks are still too expensive.. =\\), 16mb cache.
I found these two drives, each 320gb, SATA II, 7200, 16mb:

Both are $120. Soo.. I guess what it comes down to is: Which company is better? Western Digital? Or Seagate?
Other drive suggestions for a similar price range are welcome as well.

500gb, 7200rpm, SATA II, 16mb cache...................$170.
Around $50 off the lowest price I could find.
Edit: Nah, have to stick with the $120 price tag. Soooo... Seagate, or Western Digital?

From what I hear, Seagate seem to have the best reputation currently for reliability, but both Maxtor and WD have their supporters.

Alright, I went ahead and purchased the Seagate.
Thanks!

Great - just don't blame me if it blows up! (Though if they start doing that, I'm screwed as well, as my entire music collection is on a 300Gb Seagate SATA drive...)
