For those of you that have the Apple Wireless Keyboard (maybe corded to), have you ever noticed that the asterisk on it has 6 points, but when you type it it only has five?
Sorry, it's a nit-pick, but why?

The font on the keyboard (Univers, I believe) is different from the default system font (Lucida Grande).

It all depends on what font you take:
Arial: 5
Myriad Pro: 6
Lucida Grande: 5
Courier: 5
Times New Roman: 6
