Migrating to new Intel iMac from G5: Final Cut Studio questions

With my fingers crossed, I am going to order a 23" iMac they second they become availible. I have and run FCS on my G5 iMac. Until recently, I didn't realize you could load one copy on your desktop and one copy on your mobile unit (MBP 2 GHz I have).

So, I am mailing in my disc's to exchange them for the UB version along with the few dollars they request so I can get ready for my new purchase and get it running on my MBP.

My questions are as follows:

Would migration assistant pull FCS across to my new Intel iMac and then let me update it?

Would migration assistant give me the option to leave it behind so I could do a clean installation?

Even if I used the UB on my iMac G5 to reinstall the software, would it pull the Intel version over?

I think I am just going to delete out FCS and let migration assistant take it from there but I hate going back and setting everything back up the way I had it. But I will do what it takes because of the freekn speed increase is amazing.

Migration assistant should do all of that for you. I would recommend you have the latest version of FCS since it is Universal and will scream on your new iMac.

There seems to be a problem with FCP 5.1 and migration assistant. Fresh install is recomended less you get problems running it.
