24? iMac (good or bad) for photo editing

Someone previously posted that unfortunately because he is a photographer, the 24? iMac is too bright for him to use. Does anyone know if this might me true? I have started to use a Digital SLR and plan to get Aperture soon. I thought the 24? iMac would be perfect for me. Am I wrong? Is the 24? iMac so bright that it is not usable for photo editing?

    If it's soooo bright, couldn't you just turn down the brightness? You have the same display calibration program that all other Macs running OS X come with so I can't imagine the display not being calibrateable (is this a word?).

    That's right, you can turn down the brightness in sytem preferences. I don't know anything about a "display calibration program". What is that?
