microsoft are aiming to have the zune and 'zune marketplace' out for christmas.

    i'm not very sure anymore how they can compete. the article says it will be priced competitively so that caps the max price at 249 USD, considering it will be a 30GB player.



    even if they priced it at 229 USD i don't think it would be enough. 199 USD has to be the magical price point for zune. otherwise people won't even look at it. but i don't know, this is microsoft and they will sure inject a lot of marketing to their efforts and while it does include some novelties, it remains to be seen if people find them useful. one thing it has going for it is the screen size, which looks quite large. but no itunes, no clickwheel... hmm
