Sharing a USB printer on OS X Server via Samba?
I'm trying to setup a print server on my OS X Server running 10.4.7. The printer is an Epson Stylus C84 USB printer. Im sharing it via IPP for Macs and via SMB for Windows XP. Macs have no problem printing. My Winodws users can connect to my SMB shares perfect (Samba). My Windows users cant print to my printer at all. The Windows clients "see" the printer on my Server with no problems, but print jobs and test pages never print. The Windows XP clients have the proper Epson C84 driver installed too.
1) Besides Server Admin's GUI setup options for SMB Print Services, do I need to edit my smb.conf file to get printing to work for Samba?
2) Is the problem related to my printer not being a Postscript printer?
3) Is the problem due to the printer being USB and not a network printer?
