Problem installing automator script because of privileges

Hi,

I'm trying to use one of the scripts from the Automator.us site (you might have seen the iPhoto browse script on MacBreak), but I can't install the script because my system tells me that I don't have enough privileges to do so. As far as I know, I'm the administrator of this system. Is there something that I can do to make this work?

I've also tried the script on Apple's script page to "start" the script menu, and it gives me a similar message. Again, I'm the only user of this machine and I guess some setting is off. Anyone have any clues?

Thanks in advance. If anyone needs more info, let me know.

I'd have to know where it is trying to install it to.

Is all you have an installer, or do you have the actual workflow (file ending in ".workflow")?

If you have the .workflow file, just put it in /Library/Workflows in your home folder.

If it needs to be somewhere else, like as a contextual menu item for Finder, then put it in /Library/Workflows/Applications/Finder.

I fixed the problem. Thanks for your efforts. I saved the workflow and tried to copy it to ~/library/scripts and it couldn't because of privileges. Previously I was using an automated (no pun intended) installer to create and copy the script to the right location, and it wasn't giving me any opportunity to enter my password to allow it to copy - it would just say that I couldn't. Now, when I copied manually, I entered my password and away it went. I made changes to the permissions on that folder and the ones inside of it, and all is well again. Thanks again for the effort. This board has been a lifesaver for me many times in the past.

I'm still not sure why the permissions for the scripts folder would have blocked me, but I think they're changed now. If I have trouble accessing those folders again, I'll at least know what to do.
