miniDV import splitting ?

When you stop/pause on a single miniDV tape & import it, iMovie splits these automatically into "clips"......

after the tape is full of video, are you suppose to "format/erase" this tape? or do you record over it?

Will the previously recorded video interfere with how it splits up when importing to iMovie?

Thanks!

*hope that didn't sound to confusing*

If you want to re-use a tape, you just start from the beginning and record over it. The DV format is digital, so there will be no interference from the previously recorded footage. You do not need to "reformat" the tape.

how would you do that if you wanted to? or is it not worth the time?

Umm, simply rewind the tape and record over it.

so it will break that scene into it's own clip?

and the clips before/after are also separate?
