Ratings sync between nano and itunes

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
so.....i rate the songs on my nano as i hear them....but when i sync to my itunes, the ratings don't sync over to itunes.



what am i missing?

    ok....i can't get this stupid program to work. at all. i changed the rating on a certain song on my nano, then did the sync thing......nothing. i tried it with all kinds of different options. nothing.



    anyone have any experience with this program?



    or one that works?

    i'm really really sorry that i've now quadruple posted, but i found this site on the apple site that says that itunes 7 does what i'm asking...

    well i don't know how to make it do that. is it because my nano is only 2 gigs so i don't have "sync music" checked? the last time i checked that it said that my ipod wasn't big enough to hold all my music or something like that. ya, i just tried it again and that definitely didn't work at all.

    i FINALLY figured it out.



    i made a playlist in itunes call "nano" and i auto-synced just that playlist to my nano. so now i just add stuff to that playlist...

    I wrote a javascript to sync ratings between ipod and itunes (or vice-versa) when your ipod is in "sync manually" mode. I run it on windows but it should run on Mac with a few modifications (i.e. get rid of WScript*).
