The RAM Generation Gap

So I just got a nice new iBook G4 off of eBay. It's in good condition and I am pretty happy with it. But it still has the default 256MB of RAM.

I'd like to upgrade this, but before I buy new RAM I have a question. I do have an old Powerbook G3. Not Lombard or Wallstreet but before those. I think it may be called a Kanga...? It seems broken, but the problem I think is with the hard drive, so the RAM should be okay. Could I take RAM out of here and put it in the iBook? Or is it too old?

I checked MacTracker and ALL iBook G4s require DDR RAM.

It's a sure bet that a PowerBook older than a Wallstreet doesn't have DDR RAM in it. So it won't work. Plus, it wouldn't be of an adequate speed anyway.

    Darn...

Oh well I shall make do with 256MB then.

    Thanks!
