Help! How can I keep my Macbook on after closing lid?

How do I keep playing music when I shut my Macbook lid. I would like for the computer to stay on even if I close the lid. How do I do this?

If it works the same as my PowerBook, then you need to have an external display plugged in. Or the "hacks" alluded to in the previous post.
