Garageband question

hey everyone,

i have a quick garageband question...i was wondering if it was possible to mute the vocals of like an mp3 so that the instrumental is all that is able to be heard.

    The short answer is ...yes, if the vocals are on a separate track. If it's a single track (as in an MP3) the short answer is... no.

    I remember when soundjam, which eventually became iTunes, had this feature. They don't work very well, but they basically use an equalizer to reduce the middle frequencies that normally have vocals. There's no way to magically delete them from an mp3, but you can experiment a bit and you might be able to reduce their volume to some extent.
