Alarm on Nano 1.3

The alarm on my Nano 1.3 does not seem to work... Anyone have any problems with it? Can I reinstall the software update - link? Any way to get new alarm sounds? Thanks in advance!

Had to restore siPod and reset to 1,3 but is there any other alarm sounds available?
