Just make sure you get a good quality enclosure that supports Macs. I have an LG GSA-4120B DVD burner in a Lacie enclosure connected to my Mac Mini and it works great. It's the most reliable burner I've had. Support for the iapps is generally not important because idvd saves to a disk image, which you can burn with other programs and you can drag itunes playlists direct into programs like Toast. I would go for a firewire enclosure btw.

Check out www.lacie.com - they have a clearance section too. The drives in them are easily replaced.
