Hey everyone I just got a new Macbook today. When I bought it I also bought a min-DVI to DVI connector to use with my Viewsonic VA1912b widescreen LCD. But when I hook it up it doesn't go on. Nothing happens. The Apple documentation only states it will auto detect it. Doesn't say anything else about how to get it to work if it doesn't auto detect.

Press F7 while the screen is connected?

System preferences > displays > detect displays.

If you enable the displays menu item, it gives easier access.
