How do I get symbols like smiley faces and hearts in Apple's mail program to insert in my email?

    Not sure that there's much out there. You can download extra smileys for iChat and drag and drop them into your emails if you want.

    Try going to the US flag in the menu bar (near to the clock) and choosing Show Character Palatte. There's one or two symbols in there!

    Not sure how well they transfer to the PC world though.

    Or I guess you could just embed images into your document. I don't know how they come out on the other end though.
