I'm looking for a replacement for my iTools email. What's the best free email I can find? I just want to be able to check it with Entourage and if possible ocassionally in a browser.

I personally have two gmx.net accounts. I took them about two years ago, when I was living in Spain, and a German guy advised them to me.

The only catch: they used to offer you a choice between languages, but, as they are deeply German, and apparently not having that many foreign customers, put the chopper on other languages, so now it's German only, which, if you check your mail with Mail or Entourage, isn't at all a problem.

Something else I don't really like: they automatically throw your mail out after it's thirty days old, but again, as long as you use a mail-reader, that won't ever be a problem.

    two cents of mine...

You can use Netscape's built in Mail and use their free @netscape mail boxes.

I recently signed up for fastmail.fm a few weeks ago to replace my iTools email and I love it. It uses IMAP (like iTools' email did) which is superior to POP3 IMO. You can choose from a host of domains. The free account option puts 1-line ads at the bottom of your emails (just like Yahoo, Hotmail, etc...) but for a one time fee of $15 it will take those out, give you more email storage, and let you use their servers for SMTP.

    Oh yeah, and their web-based email doesn't use any banners. <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />
