photoshop-7 strokes and fills with paths

I can't seem to stroke a path consistently. It was easier to do in PS6 (or was I thinking of Illustrator?!!).



I have tried rasterizing the layer and that at least shows the stroke option in the path palette options window, but it still doesn't seem to show up when I apply the stroke . . . . .



any ideas?



anybody know about the paths situation and can word the changes in PS7 eloquently?
