I tried to post this from a cut out section of the song, but it wouldn't play when I published on iWeb. Anyway, new Beatles album (LOVE)> "a day in the life" > 4:23 in, sound familiar?

Boooooonnnggg! (())

Very simple. In Windows the start up sound is in the OS itself, well the Mac's start up sound is a hardware thing. Whatever volume you have your Mac set to, equates to the loudness of your start up sound. Try it - turn your Mac down a bit, you'll hear the sound is not so loud. Turn it up loud and you'll hear it make a loud noise. So if you don't want to hear it, just mute before you shut down.

Try drinking a glass with of wine with a nice Ferrero Rocher while you hit the mute button, cause that would be so elegant.

    /there's more ways, try goggles.

the apple chime is a response to a lawsuit by Apple Corps. That's why it's called "sosumi"

    (So sue me.)
