Any of you know how to setup the new Jaguar feature that lets any Airport equipped Mac to act as a hub for your local Airport network? I have no clue. Looking for leads and URLs as to where that info is burried. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Here's how;

Go to System Preferences and click on the "Sharing" icon.

There will be three tabs: Services, Firewall and Internet. Click on Internet, Start, and set up the Airport network as you like it. An icon of an arrow pointing up should appear over your Airport icon in the menu bar.

If you have a problem, as I did with ADSL, that on a computer using this connection over airport you can check email, ping anything, but web pages won't display it may be a problem with MTU settings (I don't know what they are, I have a friend who's a network admin!). These are the instructions he wrote for me:

(You're doing this on the client computer, not the server)

    Load the terminal

    At the terminal prompt type:

    cd /System/Library/Startupitems/Network/ ?enter?

    pico Network

scroll down the down the document until you can see the text below:

    #Configure interfaces

    ipconfig?.

    ifconfig?.

NOW insert the following line of text after the above two lines

    ifconfig en1 mtu 1472

Make sure there are NO spelling mistakes and press ?Ctrl+X? and then ?Y? then enter.

    Reboot.

The number "1472" is what works for me and him, but YMMV (as always). If you hose your computer, by the way, it's not my fault.

There may be an awesome GUI way to do this, but we couldn't find it.

    Cheers.

Regarding the problems with view websites and other services like AIM here is what you can do. Just click on the "Firewall" tab and either deactive the firewall or open the correct ports. For websites you need port 80. (you might need to active it from the "services" tab, under personal web sharing) for AIM, back in the "firewall" tab, click "new" and select "AIM" from the popup menu. same goes for anyother service you may want to use that uses different ports.
