Word to the wise!
This is a link to a story over at digg. DO NOT CLICK on the title of this story. No virus or anything, but it does some crazy shit. It launches a load of your apps right after one another including Mail, a load of random porn images, and this guy saying HEEYYYYY over and over with loads of echo. I was tempted and so I clicked, don't fall for it. I managed to pull the ethernet very quickly, and rebooted. Used Onyx to verify and repair permissions just in case. Everthing's fine now, but I would rather it hadn't happened, put in that way. And yes, this happened after I installed the latest security update (today's one).
/of course you can click my link above, it just bring you to the digg article in question.

Diggers say no biggie. I still wouldn't click on it.
Apparently it just does some javascript stuff in the browser.

Apparently so, I needed a wee jolt of Irish Wiskey to get me back on track though (not really but it did give me a bit of a start). The pure loudness of the audio was unexpected.
Browsers should come with built-in ways to warn you when this is about to happen. I mean, when Safari knows it is being asked to open so many windows and run all the javascript things, why isn't there a built-in option that blocks it? I don't think that anyone ever expects to click a single link and have it open loads of popups.
I'm sure we'll get more of that eventually. Sure aren't Google and Apple working on something like that for Safari 3.0? Not exactly like that, but Google will tag malicious sites and warn you when you are trying to open one, which is very handy.

I do not like the idea that someone should decide which sites are good for me and which are not...
I hope this feature can be disabled.

"This site has been reported as a phishing site! Do you still want to proceed? Yes/No?
So you want to disable that message, do you?
(you could in preferences, but why?)

You always have the choice of a different browser, if being warned that that your personal information could be used illegitimately isn't a concern for you.
this crap used to happen all the time in the bad old days of useing windoze.
aaahh... life so much better now
i havent seen a popup in years
Nothing happened here on 10.3.9.
That really effed up my Firefox. After I crashed it FF would die when loading my google start page. I have to clear the cookies to get it to stop.
Hmm.. Didn't screw up my firefox. It went bezerk but I just force quited and then restarted.
