windows Vista article on CNN - all new - no competition? please.
http://money.cnn.com/magazines/busin...4979/index.htm
the above article goes on and on about how Microsoft somehow has the operating system that caught Apple and Google off-guard, because while Google and Apple make headway with video like Youtube and iTV (while they neglect the fact that Microsoft has failed here many times), they say that Vista is where MS will take the rug right out from under Apple and Google (like MS is the underdog? Darth Vader is Trying a little hard to look like a rebel), because it will ahve features built in that will enable media creationa and publishing.
Hello?
Where do they find these writers, or is CNN Money subsidized by MS?
I could be wrong >\\insert sarcasm here\\<, but hasn't Apple already had the media creation and publishing thing down pat for years now? I mean, that is one reason I switched platforms. Now Vista comes all late to the game and CNN sounds off like it is this great innovative thought from Microsoft.
This sort of thing jsut bothers me. I don't feel like I have to defend Apple at all, but articles like this really are an insult to any educated persons intelligence. If it was an article posted on Miscrosofts site, it would make sense. The fact is it is not, so what gives? I also noticed the pathetic Zune is getting fawned over on CNN Money and Engadget. Nothing like that kind of marketing. Microsoft HAS to be paying.
I for one do not want to buy into the Microsoft -money-sucking-game any longer. All they do is create and ecosystem that ties you down to shelling out the dough for inferior stuff and often.
Please somebody read this and tell me i am not going out of my mind.

The author writes for Business 2.0. The world is on version 3.0.1 now.
CNN's announcers have, while trying to present the ZUNE, ended up promo-ing the Shuffle, so let's see what their announcers say.
Actually, having gone to school for MCSE, I know they feel that way.
They try to copy Apples iLife and then they try to sound like they have something new that no one else does.
It sort of angers me. I feel strange about taking this so personal, but I feel bad for the suckers who will get pulled in by this jive. I wish it was easier to take my organization to all Mac, but dumb articles like this make it hard to educate, because it is such a smokescreen to the truth.
with Microsoft, it is the same old tune, but just played really loud.
It doesn't really matter in this case because Vista is only as technically advanced as Tiger if that. It doesn't have Time Machine, Core Animation, a unix shell, Spaces (virtual desktops) and a whole host of other things that sets Leopard apart. I read that part of it was going to have resolution independence but I don't know if that covers the interface or if it's just a developer tool.
