MacBook Pro runs at 1GHz when Battery out?

hi,

just want to ask why the MacBook Pro works only with 1GHz when the Battery is out of the case and only the power supply is connect? CoreDuoTemp shows 1GHz when Battery is out. Normally the GHz number scales correctly if the battery is in, depending on want I'm doing. Do you have any idea? or the tool shows the wrong GHz number...

That's the most likely reason. If it was running more slowly, you'd notice it.

Yeah I remember reading something about this type of thing with MacBooks too when reading the CoolBook manual. What an idiotic "feature." So, taking batteries out if we're going to be using the laptop mostly as a desk computer can save batt. life?? If so I'm all for it, as soon as someone comes up with a fix for this problem (if it does in fact exist.)
