Macbook connected to an alternate display

im getting a CD2 macbook (2.0ghz 1gb ram 80gb hd) for christmas and i was wondering: can i connect it to my lcd display i have from my HP? if so, what chord will i probably need? and finally, will it only be mirroring or can i have it as a desktop extention?

    ok silly me, i looked on the specs page at apple.com for the macbook and i answered my question about weather it can do desktop extention; however, i am still not sure which chord ill need: miniDVI to DVI or miniDVI to VGA....there is no indication on the back of the monitor. all help is appreciated

    Depends on your monitor - if it can take DVI or VGA. If it can do DVI - then go with that.



    Is ther is blue plug like this? Its VGA





    Is there a white plug like this - its DVI.





    If you still cannot find it, tell us the modle # and we can find out.
