Quake 4: Are they all universal?

I'm looking to get Quake 4 for Mac. I have a Rev A Intel iMac (20 inch) and I'm only looking to buy the game if I'm 100% sure it's a universal binary.

apple.ca is selling it for $59.99 Canadian, and has specified that their copy is a universal binary. amazon.ca is selling for $49.99, with absolutely no indication of whether or not it's universal or Power PC only.

Is there any possibility that id software shipped and sold PowerPC only boxed copies of Quake 4, or can I be assured that amazon.ca is selling a universal binary?

Yes, id did ship powerpc-only copies of Quake 4 so I'd be cautious because I remember reading there was no way to upgrade it so if you had a PPC version you'd have to buy the universal version. I'm not 100% sure about that and this update:

suggests that it shouldn't matter what version you get but I don't know if that's just a universal updater. I would make sure to get a universal version.

Better yet get the Windows version which will likely run faster and cost about $10.
