Heya, im making a video with Adobe Premiere and I am running into to trouble with audio.

If I drag an mp3 file in it plays fine. But for my video I am using .avi files, and the video and audio tracks import just fine, but I cant get the .avi files' audio track to play for some reason. I have played around with the audio mixer and the 'rubber band' volume settings. But I cant get em to play. Any ideas?

Is the avi a divx file? If so use Divx Doctor II to convert the avi into a quicktime movie. Then import the QT into Premiere and use the QT audio.

If you have QT player Pro you can tell by looking at the movies properties. But I assume it is Divx. Premiere has issues playing back the DIVX audio. Go to versiontracker.com and download Divx Doctor II and convert it to a QT movie.

AVI is simply a movie container, not a codec. divx is a video codec. There is no "straight" AVI file, just AVIs with different codecs.

Similarly, QuickTime is just a container, not a codec. Sorenson, mpeg-4, and Cinepak are some video codecs for it.

But to your question, I have no idea. PCs... yech.
