Hello,

I was running disk utility and got the following message:

Volume Header needs minor repair

The Volume Macintosh HD needs to be repaired

Error: The Underlying task reported failure on exit

1 HFS Volume checked

Volume needs repair

How do I fix this?

Also, my airport card is not seen by my machine anymore...

    Reboot into single-user mode and run fsck from there.

    1) Apple menu -> Restart

    2) As soon as you see it booting up (before the Apple logo appears), start holding cmd (the Apple key) and S

    3) Keep holding until you see it going to white text on a black background

    4) Once it's done typing up stuff, type: "fsck -fy /". It should do a check, find the error, try and repair it, and do another check. If successful, type "reboot" at the end.

    Will it explain why my airport card all of a sudden disappeared?

    When I check system preferences, it looks as if my airport card isn't there...as well as the internal modem...
