Default Music Player

Hello, I've looked everywhere and can't seem to figure this out.

I want to change my default music player. I have my iTunes set up in a very specific way and when I preview a song from my external HD it opens iTunes. I want it to play through Quicktime so it doesn't add that song into my iTunes playlist.

How do I do this??

Thank You!!!

'Get Info' an any of the files whilst in the finder. Under the 'Open With' option, there is an option to change the program for all files of that type

One way: Find a music file, Get Info, and change Open With to Quicktime rather than iTunes. Then select Change All.

Hey, mind if I step in? I have been looking for an MP3 player besides iTunes. I have a Windows version called Billy. It basically plays MP3s without iTunes (or it's CPU usage).

There is an OS X version by Myndlink software called MP3bar but it is clunky. It even launches iTunes when I open it. It's a pain to add MP3 files too. Anyone know of another variant of this kind of player?

    Here's the MP3bar link.

    Thanks.
